No Time To Waste

On Purpose: Focus the organisation on what matters daily

Leader Standard Work (LSW) turns your mission into a daily routine: the few behaviours that keep everyone working on what matters (customer value, quality, flow). When leaders follow the same rhythm—Gemba visits, checking visual management, removing concerns—it tells the organisation: this is what matters here.

Leaders develop people; people build the product

On Process: Visual daily routines to remove variation

Build a simple visual routine:

Daily Meeting (15 min) – stand-up. Yesterday/today improvements/grateful – remove one concern.

Gemba (20–40 min): Observe Standard Work at the process, listen to local issues. Capture one countermeasure.

Improvement Board: Track concerns, causes, countermeasures, owners, check date.

Business meeting with team discussing strategies for lean process improvements.

Without standards, there can be no improvement

On People: Coach through routine, not reminders

Coaching beats telling.

Ask open questions.

Recognise concerns and surfaced problems.

Protect improvement time – don’t trade learning for output.

Culture changes when people see new behaviour from leaders

Leader’s Task of the Week

Start Leader Standard Work in one area:

Create a 10–15 minute daily meeting.

Schedule a 20-minute gemba (same time, same place).

Set up an improvement board – aim to close one issue per day.
