On Purpose: See Problems as Opportunities

If purpose is customer experience, then noticing problems early is key.

Treat issues as opportunities – the quickest way to drift from your purpose is to hide the issues that arise.

Go see, ask why, show respect

On Process: Stop and fix

Define the standard so that abnormality is immediately visible.

Andon – when issues appear: find the cause at the Gemba → test a countermeasure → update the standard.

Escalate unresolved issues quickly.

Jidoka: defects are not passed on

On People: Create a safe environment to raise issues

People raise issues only when it’s safe and is commonly practiced.

Leaders thank those who stop to fix the system (not the person), and share learning so that speaking up helps everyone.

Respect for people and continuous improvement are inseparable

Leader’s Task of the Week

Encourage Stop & Fix.

Identify triggers (safety, errors, non-standard, downtime…..).

Capture a stop & fix daily, identify the learning & share as a one-point lesson next day (daily meeting)
