Steve Halpin

I come from an Engineering background and held Operations Management roles with multi-national organisations for over 20 years. In my first operations management role in the late eighties, I became acutely aware of the non-technical challenges of the business — commercial pressures and industrial relations.

I was fortunate to meet a lean trainer back then and felt the approach was worth trying. Within weeks, the team were solving long-term quality issues, customers increased their business with us, and we began hiring. By focusing on the product, process, and engaging all staff, a sense of achievement emerged.

I’ve been applying lean thinking ever since and set up the business in 2006. We now focus on training and mentoring to achieve lasting change. I’m also Chairman of the Dublin Lean Network — a community bringing businesses together to share Lean ideas and best practices.
