Associate Consultant
As Director for Europe of SISU Consulting Group I am also an Associate Consultant of LeanTeams providing consulting expertise to our Lean Leadership Training Programme.
I am experienced in business delivery, organisational change in particular cultural change, including both design and implementation. My focus is on ensuring the sustainability of improvements by securing real “buy-in” and ownership at all levels of the client business. I am a Shingo Examiner and am highly experienced in assessing organisations against Global Enterprise Excellence frameworks.
I was the first Shingo global coach and facilitator appointed in Europe, and over the past 12 years I have supported 37 organisations to achieve all levels of Shingo recognition. This includes all but one of Ireland’s Shingo Award Recipients. In particular, I have supported 12 out of the 20 most recent Shingo Prize recipients. In 2004, I was awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for my work in leading large cultural change programs in the UK public sector.
A graduate of the University of Ulster, I also hold a Diploma in Education from Jordanhill College Glasgow and a Diploma in Public Sector Change from Birmingham University.
I have held a number of different technical, advisory and leadership roles, including Deputy Director, Inland Revenue Northern Ireland and Deputy Director Pacesetter Program which was then Europe’s largest public sector change program.
From 2007 to 2009, I was a key member of the London-based, PWC Public Sector Transformation support team.
From 2009 to 2014, I was the Managing Consultant at the Manchester-based, TMI, the UK’s leading Manufacturing Charity. In this role I headed the team that introduced the Shingo Model to Europe, including Ireland. I was the first Shingo coach and facilitator appointed outside of the USA and directly supported Irelands’ first Shingo Award recipients: Lake Region Medical/Integer; Abbott Vascular, Clonmel and DePuySynthes (J&J) Cork.
As Director of SISU Europe I have continued to support companies in Ireland and around the globe to progress on their OpEx journeys. This includes providing direct support to 12 of the 17 most recent Shingo Prize recipients. In addition to those listed above, this includes: Newsprinters Motherwell; Abbott Diagnostics Longford; Boston Scientific Cork; Abbott Nutrition Sligo; AbbVie Sligo; Abbott Nutrition Granada; Abbott Manufacturing Singapore; Abbott Nutrition Sturgis; ANSC One China.
