Learn the strategies top organisations use to engage staff and deliver exceptional results
Hi, I’m Steve Halpin.
Back in the 90’s, I took on the role as Operations Manager in a long-established SME organisation. I have an engineering background and like solving problems.
The pressure of Operations soon became apparent. I was being asked to commit on delivery dates and quantities for clients with no idea whether these promises could be met as our performance was so unpredictable.
It was no better than a guess most weeks.
I can’t remember how it came about, but I found myself on a training program on a subject I’d never heard about.
The first couple of days, I regretted being on the 5-day course. Then some ideas began to resonate.
Then, my thinking about what we were trying to achieve completely transformed.
We needed to look at each area as a process, clearly define the outputs required and engage the ‘experts’ (those in the process) in structured problem solving
The right structured approach can make all the difference. We’ll cover it in this LeanPractitioner programme.
“I felt that the Lean tools course really emphasised the value of organisation and structure within the workplace, some significant improvements can be made when utilising lean methodology whether it be 5S/Kanban/.SMED etc. I would definitely recommend this course to learn valuable insight into Lean systems.”
